PASS criteria

You will develop an idea for the use of a prosthetic special effect. This will require you to create a technical proposal that explains the following:

• What the effect is?
• Why it is needed and how it is supposed to make the audience feel - this should be supported with a mood board of similar effects
• How the effect works - this should include photos and drawings outlining how it will work on screen
• What materials you need - this is for both the special effect prop and for the shoot
• Proposed costs - how much do the materials cost? What other costs are involved?
• Camera and stage directions - this should be a floor plan of the shoot
• Risks and how to make them safe, both of the creation of the prop and that sequence to be shot. 

Evidence

As a crew/independent artist you need to produce a presentation. You need to have a slide which addresses each bullet point. For the presentation you can use;

• Mood boards
• Spider diagrams
• Sketches
• Synopsis of the idea.
